Powder coating is a dry finishing process that has become extremely popular since its introduction in North America over 40 years ago. Representing over 15% of the total industrial finishing market, powder is used on a wide array of products. More and more companies specify powder coatings for a high-quality, durable finish, allowing for maximized production, improved efficiencies, and simplified environmental compliance.
Powdercoating is a baked on finish similar to how they make factory wheels colored. It is a permanent finish that also removes all curb rash or marks on the wheels. They are sandblasted and sanded down where necessary to get that new showroom feel. All parts are first cleaned of contaminants and prepped for media blasting. All parts are then media blasted to remove any previous finishes and provide the best possible surface for coating adhesion. After blasting the part is examined and prepped for coating including taping and plugging where the customer does not want powder to be applied. We then apply the powder using our top of the line ITW Gema powder application gun and bake in our 8ft x 8ft x 17.5 ft oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for a full cure. Once the item is removed from the oven and cooled to room temperature it is ready for use.
